Letter From Membership Vice President

Hello Potential New Members, 

My name is Liv DeTrevillle and I am serving as the Membership Vice President for the Kappa Gamma chapter of Alpha Xi Delta. I am super excited to serve this role and be able to meet each and every one of you!

Alpha Xi Delta’s motto is “realize your potential” and I have personally experienced that while being a part of our chapter. We push our sisters to explore all of the vast parts of life out of their comfort zones and become the best versions of themselves. Our chapter strives to meet our core values, which are leadership, knowledge, sisterhood, and service. All of our core values encourage and challenge us daily to be the best sisters we can to one another. Being a member of Alpha Xi Delta not only helps you to “realize your potential”, but to spare no effort in becoming an ideal member of society.

I came to The University of South Carolina in the Fall of 2021. I knew absolutely nothing about Greek Life but knew I wanted a sisterhood. I grew up the youngest and only girl in my family. I always felt like something was missing, and that turned out to be the sisterhood I have gained in Alpha Xi Delta. This sisterhood has truly pushed me to “realize my potential”. I joined the Membership Team my sophomore year as Committee Director because my sisters pushed me to apply. I then served as the Recruitment Events Director last year. Here I am now as the Membership Vice President, I could not imagine being here without the support of my sisters. During the recruitment process you will feel so many emotions at once, excitement, nervousness, and everything in between, but every single emotion is so worth it. The best advice I can give is be yourself and do not forget to have fun. As long as you do this you will end up exactly where you are meant to be! Live in the moment and get to know as many people as possible. No matter where you end up, you will make friends and memories for a lifetime! Recruitment at the University of South Carolina is a once in a life-time experience so make the most of it!
